May 26, 2010: The Langmuir Research Institute recognized teachers at Hawk Point Elementary School with an "Excellence in Education" award.  This award recognizes a teacher's dedication to capturing the curiosity, enthusiam and motivation for learning in the young student.  Individuals are chosen based on their creativity and resourcefulness for effectively communicating with the youngest of students.  These teachers have demonstrated a commitment to inspire the next-generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals.

The award included a certificate and $150 for each teacher.
